FAQ’s
Here at SSE Skin And Beauty we understand that some of our terminology and procedures can seem confusing. We have compiled a list of our most FAQ’s to help.
What should I look for in an aesthetician/facialist?
It is important to make sure that your aestheician/facialist is experienced, adequately trained and insured to perform treatments.
How often should I get facials?
This is dependant on what you want to achieve or what skin concerns you may have. It is ideal to book a consultation, so that your practicioner can give you a thorough skincare plan and advise you on what treatments you will need and when.
Is there parking at the premises?
Yes, there is plenty of parking in the street near to the clinic. There is also a space on the driveway for client use to ensure maximum security.
Can I wear make-up to my appointment?
Yes you can wear make-up to your appointment as the practitioner will always cleanse the skin before any treatment is given. Ideally if clients can come make-up free, this will save time taking it off.
Can I wear make-up after my treatment?
Most of the treatments that we offer are categorised as advanced facial treatments. Therefore they will usually require 24 – 48 hours down time. Ideally make-up should not be worn in this time period
Will I have more hair growing back after dermaplaning?
No. The hair removed is the vellus hair which is attached to the top layer of your skin which also gets removed. Wellus hair will grow back as normal within 4 – 5 weeks.
What should I do to ensure that I am looking after my skin?
It is important to always wear a facial sun protection factor of 30 – 50. If wearing make-up a SPF should be applied before putting your make-up on. A cleanse and moisturiser should be applied in the morning, SPF on top, then make-up should be removed at night, skin cleansed, toned and a night cream/serum applied for optimum results.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, I offer gift vouchers which are great for presents for friends and loved ones. These start from £20.00.
Do the needling treatments hurt as I am scared of needles?
All of the needling treatments are controlled by machines, not individual injections. Numbing cream is always applied for maximum client comfort. Discomfort from these types of treatment is very minimal.
Are your treatments good for older skin?
Yes. A lot of treatments can be very beneficial for older skin. Depending what has been discussed in the consultation, most clients who are looking to tighten, lift and smooth all fine lines and wrinkles can benefit hugely from getting the right treatment that is best suited to them and their skin.
